MASTER B. SLAIN
AP-New Orleans- In the early morning hours of September 1, 2002, Percy Emanuel Boudreaux (aka) Master B, was struck down, the victim of an apparent assasination. The murder occurred just outside the perimeter gate leading to his 17,000 square foot mansion in Metarie, La., an upscale suburb in northern New Orleans Parish.
According to witness statements, Master B was returning home from his annual Fantasy Football Kickoff party around 4:45 a.m. on Sunday morning when a dark late model sports utility vehicle and a white Nova converged on Master B at his gate. Master B's Gold S 430 Mercedes was riddled with several hundred rounds of automatic gunfire before the assailants sped away. Said a neighbor of Master B, Mr. Rick Williams, "I was walking one of my male friends out to his car around 4:45 a.m. when we heard a terrific noise from Master B's gate. Because I am a dumbass, I raced to the sound and saw two vehicles speed away. Unfortunately, though it was the middle of the night, I was wearing my football helmet with the dark shield and I didn't see the license plates clearly."
Master B, the 2001 Lawyers League Fantasy Football Champion, was a controversial figure in the Fantasy Football world since busting onto the scene five years ago. His "in your face" style, while popular with the younger owners and players, did not always sit well with some of the older more "establishment-minded" owners. Some critics believed that Master B's flamboyance and verbal assaults directed towards his fellow competitors were often inappropriate and mean-spirited. Master B supporters said that his style was simply a reflection of his ghetto upbringing, that Master B was merely a product of an impoverished tough culture where intimidation, and aggressiveness are necessary for survival.
As for Master B, he never apologized for who he was or how he conducted himself. "I hangs out with gangstas, pimps, killas, and prostitutes! I smoke weed! So tha fuck what? You don't know what I know. You ain't seen what I seen. Hey, you may be able to take the N&^%*R out the hood, but you ain't never gonna take the hood out of this N&^%*R!!" This in an interview given for an article in the October 2000 Edition of Sports Illustrated.
Police spokesman, Jack Mehoff said that despite Master B's immense wealth and easy access to good hooch, robbery was apparently not the motive. When police arrived on the scene Master B was still wearing a $30,000 Presidential Rolex and a $45,000 diamond-studded Cartier bracelet as well as other jewelry valued at around $270,000. Furthermore, Master B had around $18,000 in cash on his person when he was removed from his vehicle. According to police, the only things missing from the vehicle were the LLFF trophy, a green helmet containing the names of past champions, and Master B's address book containing addresses and phone numbers of his Krue and his bitches and hos. No word yet as to any suspects in the killing.
Love him or hate him, Master B was not a man to be ignored or taken lightly. His brash demeanor and arrogance, while not always appreciated did nonetheless command your attention. He was a strong personality and his absence will surely be felt. Who will take over his 2002 defending championship team has not been determined. Whoever it is, it will take an exceptional man to fill Master B's shoes. Again, Master B, dead, at age 25.
he kept it real......
